Before starting the water supply installation, one must also consider the water drainage system, or more simply, the sewerage system. This engineering network is typically the first to be installed among all utilities.

The construction of a sewerage system begins with marking out where the pipes will be located. The pipeline axis is drawn using a level, and brackets are installed. After this, fittings are assembled separately from the main line.

Sewerage System Construction – What You Need to Know

To assemble bends, tees, or various end pieces, all sealing rings must be lubricated generously with engine oil. Cut ends should be treated with a planer or file.

Under no circumstances should sealants be used, as this will lead to stronger bonding of the pipes. Once the sealant dries, it will be impossible to dismantle the pipe connections.

Once the fittings are assembled and the location for sanitary equipment installation is determined, all parts can be connected to the main pipe and placed into brackets. If a pipe needs to be cut shorter, this can be done with a regular angle grinder, hacksaw, or jigsaw. The cut area should be cleaned, removing all debris with a file or knife.

Inspection collectors should be placed at every problematic area or 90-degree turn. This is necessary to make it easier to reach blockages if they occur.

Similarly, when installing risers, a compensator and a cleaning opening are installed every 5-7 metres at a height of 120 centimetres from the floor. In a private house, easy access to a blockage is not as critical. Installing a few caps at turns is sufficient.

After the installation inside the building is completed, the pipes can be connected to the general sewerage system or a septic tank. If polypropylene pipes were used indoors, more durable polyethylene or corrugated pipes, known professionally as 'Pragma pipes', are required for outdoor use.

When installing pipes in a trench, the slope from the manhole to the building should be maintained within a range of 0.8-2 centimetres per metre, no more. A sand bed is placed under the pipe, and a 15-35 centimetre layer of sand is poured over the top of the pipe for testing purposes.
