Gone are the days when bathrooms were located in the garden. Even in remote villages, residents now strive to build sanitation facilities inside their homes. What more can be said about flats or private houses situated in or near a city? Installing a sewer system in a house doesn't necessarily require an engineer with a higher education, though it certainly involves many intricacies.

Firstly, a floor plan of the rooms needing sewage pipes must be drawn up. The placement of sanitary equipment should also be decided. Depending on the overall water consumption, the drainage volume is calculated, and the appropriate sewer pipe diameter is chosen accordingly.

House Sewer System Installation – What's Important to Know

The time has come for sewer system installation. Work begins from the lowest point and proceeds upwards, ensuring the correct slope along the entire pipe length. If a private house is not connected to the city's municipal sewer system, then a septic tank and filter chamber installation is necessary.

For the waste filtration system, three pits must be excavated. In each, three wells should be installed, with diameters of 1 and 1.5 metres. The first well serves as a coarse filter for wastewater. In the 1.5-metre well, dense fractions settle, and the liquid moves along a pipe, installed 1.5-2 metres from the chamber's bottom, to the next well.

In the second well, sediment accumulates again, and the gravel-sand mixture previously placed at the bottom of the well filters the water and directs it into the soil. Residual water moves along a pipe, similar to the first chamber, and proceeds to the third well, from which it is then pumped out using a drainage pump. This filtration system can eliminate the need for vacuum trucks for several years.

During sewer operation, a vacuum can occur due to the system's airtightness. To prevent damage to moving parts, a ventilation riser is installed in the system. This extends to the building's roof as a continuation of the sewer pipe.
