Whether you live in a new house or one built 40 years ago, sooner or later, a complete renovation of the entire building will be necessary, starting with replacing the utility systems. Some homeowners opt to replace pipes themselves, but it's best to entrust this complex task to specialists.

Water Pipe Materials

First, let's clarify which materials are currently used for water pipes:

- Metal pipes. The so-called 'old school' of plumbing, but today, metal as a material is becoming obsolete. Installing such pipes definitely requires a welding machine and a welder. Additionally, their lifespan is limited and not particularly long compared to other materials.

- Copper pipes. A more durable and higher-quality material for water pipes is copper. Copper pipes are on par with plastic and polypropylene pipes in terms of properties, but due to their high cost, they are rarely used.

- Multilayer composite pipes (metal-plastic) quickly became popular due to their ease of installation and relatively low cost. If you decide to use this type of pipe for your water system installation, remember that they have one weak point: the connection fittings, which tend to leak over time at the joint.

- Polypropylene. A very durable and long-lasting material for water systems. Installation requires a special soldering tool (soldering iron) and fittings. A great advantage of polypropylene piping is that it can safely be concealed within walls or under floors, naturally, only after the pipes have been fully pressure tested.

Among the wide range of available materials for water pipe installation, polypropylene stands out as a more favourable option. This material is relatively inexpensive, yet also reliable and durable.

Once you've made your choice, you can call a plumber in Tallinn, who will install the water pipes in your home as quickly as possible.
